MuscleNerd, of iPhone Dev-team, has made an announcement on his Twitter stating the release of Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 for both Windows and Mac. The question here is what will we find different on the Redsn0w 0.9.9 b7 ?
MusleNerd released that the Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 has been introduced specially to improve the time of jailbreak process. Redsn0w 0.9.9 b7 allows the users to complete the actual jailbreak process in a much shorted time. In fact he claims that it reduced the time from 210 seconds to 80 seconds, which is if you work it out a 60% decrease. Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 is a tethered jailbreak for iOS 5 for now. But we are pretty impressed by the decrease in time. He was quoted directly:
After some feedback on reddit, we’ve decided to make the initial jailbreak as quick as possible by no longer “stashing” the applications by default during the redsn0w run. This reduces the time to actually perform the jailbreak from 210 seconds to 80 seconds (60 percent!). However, you make up for much of that the first time you launch Cydia, which will then want to stash the applications. You can choose whether you want redsn0w or Cydia to stash in the Preferences pane.
